The SOS Sheep Club
To tell you a little more about this wonderful program
Our wonderful herd is a part of a kid's 4-H program called "Save Our Sheep Club." The reason for this club is that sheep have the ability to teach kids important life lessons, in a relaxed FUN atmosphere. The club members usually have so much fun they don't even realize they are learning important skills like teamwork. The kids must work together herding their animals in order to accomplish their chores. Sheep teach them in an instant, if you are not unified as a group, the outcome of their success will be compromised! Sheep also teach kids that hard work creates a positive self-esteem. Among other benefits they gain speaking and people skills. They learn they must have positive attitude, in order to have respect from their lamb and other club members. The club also does other fun activities, like creating a fund raising calender, a fashion show, and parades. They also participate in a new 2009 program focusing on helping kids with special needs. Every member of the club gets the opportunity to sign up to be a 4-H member. With this membership, it allows the kids to participate in all 4-H has to offer. That allows our SOS Club members to show off their lambs and their hard work at the Sarpy County Fair. It is a rewarding experience and creates a lifetime of memories! Along with these activities, there will also be a select few speakers coming to inspire and help kids bring out their potentials in life. Also, kids wanting hands on experience with vet care can volunteer throughout the year. The SOS Club is about kids and animals working together, to bring out the BEST in each other!
